In response to calls for streamlining aviation operations, the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has unveiled its Directorate of Air Transport Regulation (DATR) Electronic Portal (E-Portal). This groundbreaking platform, officially launched on December 2, 2024, at the NCAA headquarters in Abuja, reflects the agency’s commitment to innovation and efficiency. Acting Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo emphasized the portal’s transformative potential in modernizing regulatory processes, underscoring its alignment with international best practices. The four-word focus key phrase, Air Transport Regulations Portal, was highlighted as a pivotal tool to elevate the aviation sector’s operational standards.
During his remarks, Capt. Najomo described the E-Portal as a cutting-edge, single-window system that simplifies and optimizes the operations of the Directorate of Air Transport Regulations. He stressed that this platform is designed to enhance service delivery by providing a seamless electronic interface for stakeholders. Moreover, he hailed the initiative as a milestone that would usher in a new era of digital aviation processes, characterized by competence, innovation, and transparency.
The Director of DATR, Mrs. Olayinka Babaoye-Iriobe, elaborated on the portal’s features, emphasizing process optimization, real-time data tracking, centralization, and improved transparency. These capabilities, she noted, are set to revolutionize the aviation regulatory landscape, ensuring efficiency and fostering collaboration among industry players.
